Constantinople is the main setting of Ezio's later adventures in Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
Released in 2011, Revelations sends Ezio to Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire, during the early sixteenth century. He arrives while the city is politically contested and becomes involved with local Assassins, Ottoman forces, and Templar agents. The game's districts include areas on both sides of the Bosporus, reflecting Constantinople's position between Europe and Asia.
The city was renamed Istanbul in official Turkish usage in the twentieth century, but Constantinople is the historically appropriate name for the period depicted in the game. Revelations also returns to Altaïr's story through memories set in Masyaf and other locations, while the modern-day sections continue Desmond Miles's arc. This structure makes the game a bridge between Ezio's Renaissance narrative and the earlier history of the Brotherhood, rather than a wholly separate adventure.
