Constantinople is the principal setting of Ezio Auditore's final main-game adventure, Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
The game is set in the early 16th century, when Ezio travels to Constantinople, the capital of the Ottoman Empire, to recover keys connected with Altaïr's library at Masyaf. The city is divided into districts and contains major locations on both sides of the Golden Horn.
Ezio meets important Ottoman figures including Prince Suleiman, later known as Suleiman the Magnificent, and works alongside local Assassins. The story also returns to Altaïr's life through memory sequences, bringing the two protagonists together narratively.
The city is officially known as Istanbul today, but Constantinople is the historical name used for the game's setting and period. Rome belongs chiefly to Brotherhood, while Florence is Ezio's hometown in Assassin's Creed II.
