Constantinople is the primary setting of Ezio’s later life in Assassin's Creed Revelations.
The game takes Ezio Auditore to the Ottoman capital, where he becomes involved with the local Assassin Brotherhood and the succession tensions surrounding Ottoman princes. The city’s districts, markets, rooftops, and waterways form the main explorable environment. The game is set in the early sixteenth century, principally in 1511.
The city was historically known as Constantinople during the period depicted, although it had been conquered by the Ottoman Empire in 1453. This historical transition can lead to confusion with the later widespread use of the name Istanbul. Revelations also includes Masyaf and other locations through story sequences and travel.
The title concludes Ezio’s main trilogy and connects his story with Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. Ezio discovers Altaïr’s memories and legacy while pursuing secrets connected to the Assassin Brotherhood and the First Civilization.
