In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, what historical city is the main setting for Ezio's final adventure?

The story behind the answer

Constantinople is the main historical setting for Ezio's final adventure in Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

The game takes Ezio to the Ottoman capital in the early sixteenth century, where he searches for keys connected to Altaïr's legacy. Constantinople is divided into districts and includes important locations such as Galata, the Imperial district, and the underground Basilica Cistern.

The city is portrayed during the reign of Sultan Bayezid II, with Prince Suleiman appearing as a young historical figure. Ezio works with Yusuf Tazim and the local Assassin bureau while facing Templar activity led by Manuel Palaiologos.

Revelations also alternates between Ezio's Constantinople story, Altaïr's memories in Masyaf, and Desmond's modern-day experiences. Constantinople was officially renamed Istanbul in 1930, but the game's sixteenth-century setting uses the historically appropriate name for the period.
