Bayek of Siwa is the Assassin's Creed Origins protagonist who becomes a founder of the Hidden Ones.
Bayek is a Medjay from Siwa in Ptolemaic Egypt. After a personal tragedy, he and Aya investigate the people responsible and become involved in a broader struggle against the Ancient Order. Their actions lead to the creation of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood.
Aya is Bayek's wife and an important playable character, but she is not the game's principal protagonist. Khemu is their son, and Senu is Bayek's eagle companion. Origins is designed as a historical origin story for the series' Assassins and is set centuries before the medieval events of the first Assassin's Creed. Its open world includes Egypt's deserts, cities, temples, and the Nile region.
