In Assassin's Creed Origins, what is the name of Bayek's wife and fellow Medjay?

The story behind the answer

In Assassin's Creed Origins, Bayek's wife and fellow Medjay is named Aya.

Aya is a powerful naval commander and a major playable character in the game. She and Bayek begin the story investigating the death of their son, Khemu, and the wider conspiracy behind it. Their personal quest eventually connects to the political struggles surrounding Ptolemaic Egypt.

Aya is closely associated with Cleopatra, whom she supports during the conflict with Ptolemy XIII. She also works with Julius Caesar and becomes involved in the formation of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood.

A common mix-up is confusing Aya with Bayek's title or with Cleopatra, both of whom are central to the story but are not his spouse. Aya's Roman identity, Amunet, is also important: later Assassin lore identifies Amunet as a legendary early figure of the Brotherhood.
