In Assassin's Creed Origins, Bayek of Siwa's wife is Aya.
Aya is a Medjay and an important character in the game's founding story for the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood. She and Bayek share a personal mission shaped by the death of their son, while their political and military work connects them to major events in Ptolemaic Egypt.
Aya is not a playable substitute for Bayek throughout the entire game, although the player controls her during selected story sequences. Her identity can be confused with Layla Hassan, the modern-day protagonist of Origins, or with Kassandra, the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
Origins was released in 2017 and takes place primarily in Egypt during the first century BCE. It reworked the series into a role-playing action game, adding levels, loot, ability trees, and a more expansive map.
