Kassandra is the canonical protagonist of Assassin's Creed Odyssey's novelization.
Odyssey lets players choose either Kassandra or Alexios as the playable Misthios, or mercenary. In the game's continuity, Kassandra is the protagonist used by the official novelization, while Alexios takes the role of Deimos, the opposing sibling.
The story is set in Greece during the Peloponnesian War, beginning in 431 BCE. Kassandra's journey involves her family, the Cult of Kosmos, and the legacy of the First Civilization. The RPG structure includes dialogue choices, branching outcomes, naval travel, and substantial exploration across the Aegean world.
Because the game permits either sibling as the player character, asking for the canonical protagonist is more precise than simply asking who can be played. The novelization by Gordon Doherty follows Kassandra's version of the story, establishing her as the series' official narrative choice for Odyssey.
