Crete is the Greek island associated with the Minotaur’s legendary home in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
In Greek mythology, the Minotaur lived in a labyrinth beneath the palace at Knossos on Crete. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey adapts this myth into a major questline, allowing the player to investigate the creature and enter the Labyrinth of Lost Souls.
The game is set during the Peloponnesian War in the fifth century BCE and presents a large version of the Aegean world. Its mythological quests sit alongside historical locations, political conflicts, and fictionalized interpretations of ancient Greek culture.
Kephallonia is where the player character’s journey begins, while Delos and Lesbos are other islands represented in the game. Those locations are not the mythological setting traditionally linked to the Minotaur and Knossos.
