In Assassin's Creed Mirage, Basim defends Baghdad from the Order.
The game is set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age, especially in the year 861. Basim Ibn Ishaq begins as a street thief before joining the Hidden Ones, the organization that later becomes known as the Assassin Brotherhood. The city is the central setting for his investigation into the Order, a secret Templar precursor.
Mirage presents a compact urban map built around historic districts and important sites such as the Round City, the Abbasiyah district, and the House of Wisdom. Basim's missions combine stealth, investigation, parkour, and targeted assassinations rather than the broad regional exploration seen in several earlier games.
Damascus is associated with Altaïr in the first Assassin's Creed, while Constantinople is Ezio's main setting in Revelations. Alexandria is central to parts of Assassin's Creed Origins. Those cities belong to different protagonists and periods; Mirage's defining city is Baghdad, where Basim's transformation takes place.
