In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which character is the game’s central protagonist?

The story behind the answer

Basim Ibn Ishaq is the central protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Mirage follows Basim before the events of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. He begins as a street thief in ninth-century Anbar and travels to Baghdad, where he joins the Hidden Ones under the guidance of Roshan. The game focuses on stealth, investigation, parkour, and targeted assassinations in a more compact structure than several recent open-world entries.

Basim also appears in Valhalla, where he is an important member of the Hidden Ones and becomes connected to Eivor’s story. Hytham is Basim’s fellow Hidden One associate, while Roshan is his mentor. Mirage’s historical setting is Abbasid Baghdad, and its central city is not the Renaissance Rome or Victorian London featured in other installments.
