Basim Ibn Ishaq is the protagonist who becomes an Assassin in Baghdad in Assassin's Creed Mirage.
Mirage follows Basim, a young street thief in ninth-century Baghdad. After encountering the Hidden Ones, the historical predecessors of the later Assassin Brotherhood, he leaves his former life and trains under Roshan.
The game is designed as a more compact, stealth-focused experience than many recent role-playing entries. Its setting includes Baghdad and surrounding regions during the Islamic Golden Age, and its missions emphasize investigation, parkour, hidden-blade assassinations, and social stealth.
Basim also appears in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, where he is an important character connected to Eivor's story. Eivor, Bayek, and Shay are protagonists from other mainline games, not Mirage's central character.
