In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Basim Ibn Ishaq is the street thief who becomes an Assassin.
Basim begins the story as a thief in ninth-century Anbar before traveling to Baghdad. He joins the Hidden Ones and receives training that changes both his abilities and his understanding of the world. The game follows his work across Abbasid Baghdad, where investigations, stealth, and social blending are central to progression.
Mirage is set before the events of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, where Basim is also an important character. The game revisits the series’ earlier emphasis on parkour, infiltration, and assassination missions rather than focusing primarily on open-world role-playing systems. Its depiction of Baghdad is historical fiction, combining real Abbasid-era places and figures with the series’ mythology.
