Ratonhnhaké:ton is the Mohawk name of the Assassin's Creed III protagonist commonly called Connor. He is the son of the Templar Haytham Kenway and a Kanien'kehá:ka woman named Kaniehtí:io.
The story follows Ratonhnhaké:ton during the American Revolution, where he becomes involved with the Assassin Brotherhood and works with figures including Achilles Davenport, George Washington, and Samuel Adams. Connor is the name used widely in English-language presentation, but his birth name reflects his Mohawk identity and family background.
The character is sometimes mistaken for Haytham because both are playable during the opening portion of the game and share the Kenway surname. Haytham is Connor’s father and a Templar leader, while Ratonhnhaké:ton becomes an Assassin. The game’s narrative deliberately places their opposing loyalties within the same family.
