In Assassin’s Creed III, what is the name of the Mohawk village where Ratonhnhaké:ton grows up?

The story behind the answer

In Assassin’s Creed III, Kanatahséton is the Mohawk village where Ratonhnhaké:ton grows up.

Ratonhnhaké:ton, later known as Connor, is raised in Kanatahséton by his mother, Kaniehtí:io, and the local Mohawk community. The village is located in the Kanien’kehá:ka homeland and is central to the early part of Connor’s story. Threats connected to colonial expansion eventually push him toward the Assassin Brotherhood.

The name is easy to overlook because the game more often emphasizes Connor’s personal name and the Davenport Homestead, which becomes his base later in the campaign. Kanatahséton is not the same place as the homestead or the cities where many Revolutionary War missions occur.

Assassin’s Creed III was released in 2012 and is set during the American Revolution. Its story follows both Connor and his father, Haytham Kenway, presenting the conflict from intersecting Assassin and Templar perspectives.
