The name Connor helps the game's international audience pronounce and identify its central character, while Ratonhnhaké:ton reflects his Kanien'kehá:ka identity. His father is Haytham Kenway, a Templar and one of the game's major characters.
Desmond Miles remains the modern-day protagonist, and Achilles Davenport becomes Connor's mentor. Neither is the Assassin name of Ratonhnhaké:ton, and Haytham is a separate character rather than an alternate name for Connor.
