Rome is the Italian city primarily controlled and rebuilt by Ezio in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
The game is set mainly in Rome during the early sixteenth century. Ezio works against the Borgia family, whose influence dominates the city through political power, military force, and economic control. Many districts begin under Borgia authority, and Ezio weakens that control by completing missions and eliminating key officials.
A distinctive feature of Brotherhood is its city-rebuilding system. Ezio can restore shops, landmarks, tunnels, and other services, helping Rome recover economically and making the city more useful to him. He also recruits and trains new members for the Assassin Brotherhood.
Florence and Venice are especially important in Assassin's Creed II, while Milan appears in several Renaissance-related stories. Brotherhood does include locations beyond Rome, but Rome remains its central setting and the main area where Ezio's campaign unfolds.
