Rome is the Italian city controlled by Ezio Auditore in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
Brotherhood is set primarily in Renaissance Rome, where Ezio works to weaken the Borgia family's power and rebuild the Assassin Brotherhood. The city's districts begin under Borgia control and can be liberated by completing missions and eliminating key officials.
The game expands the series with a recruitable Brotherhood, allowing Ezio to train citizens and call Assassins into missions. Rome also contains landmarks such as the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Castel Sant'Angelo, and the Vatican area.
Florence and Venice are central locations in Assassin's Creed II, which precedes Brotherhood. Monteriggioni also returns in Brotherhood, but Rome is the principal city and the location associated with Ezio's campaign against Cesare Borgia.
