In Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, which historical family does Cesare Borgia lead?
Answer
The Borgia family
Answer
The Borgia family
In Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Cesare Borgia leads the Borgia family.
Cesare is the principal human antagonist of Brotherhood and commands a powerful faction in Renaissance Italy. He is the son of Rodrigo Borgia, who appears in Assassin's Creed II as the Templar Grand Master known as the Spaniard and later becomes Pope Alexander VI. Cesare's political and military ambitions drive much of the conflict in and around Rome.
The game also features other prominent Italian families, including the Medici and Sforza families. Their presence can make the period's political structure difficult to remember, but Cesare is specifically associated with the Borgia dynasty. Lucrezia Borgia, his sister, is another historically based member of the family represented in the story.
The real Borgias were a Spanish-Italian papal family active in late fifteenth- and early sixteenth-century Italy. Brotherhood fictionalizes their connections to the Templars and the Assassins, while borrowing names, offices, and broad political circumstances from history.
