Ezio Auditore uses Rome as his main base in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
The game is set primarily in Rome during the early sixteenth century, where Ezio works to dismantle the Borgia family's control. He operates from the city while recruiting and training Assassins, restoring districts and confronting Cesare Borgia. Rome serves as the central open-world environment rather than merely appearing as one location among many.
The title Brotherhood expands the organization-building ideas introduced in Assassin's Creed II. Ezio can recruit citizens, send them on missions and call trained Assassins for assistance. Monteriggioni is important in the series and appears in the wider Ezio story, but it is not Brotherhood's principal base. Florence and Venice are major settings in Assassin's Creed II, while Constantinople is the central city in Assassin's Creed Revelations. This makes the cities easy to confuse when comparing the Ezio trilogy.
