In 2007’s “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” Harry lives at Hogwarts in Gryffindor House.
Harry was sorted into Gryffindor during his first year at Hogwarts, after the Sorting Hat considered placing him in Slytherin. Gryffindor is one of Hogwarts’ four student houses, founded by Godric Gryffindor and associated with courage, bravery, nerve, and chivalry. Harry shares the house with Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, and many other central characters.
In the film, Gryffindor students sleep in dormitories and gather in the Gryffindor common room, located in Gryffindor Tower. Professor Minerva McGonagall is the house’s Head. The house’s colours are scarlet and gold, and its emblem is a lion.
A common mix-up is confusing Harry’s school house with his homes outside Hogwarts. He spends much of his childhood at the Dursleys’ house on Privet Drive and later stays at places connected with the Order of the Phoenix, but his Hogwarts house remains Gryffindor throughout the series. The film depicts Harry’s fifth year, including the formation of Dumbledore’s Army and his confrontation with the Ministry’s influence at Hogwarts.
