In 1960, what corporate name replaced McDonald's System, Inc.?

The story behind the answer

In 1960, McDonald's System, Inc. changed its corporate name to McDonald's Corporation.

The renaming reflected the company's growth beyond the original restaurant system developed by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald. Ray Kroc had joined the business as a franchising agent in the 1950s and helped expand the chain nationally. The corporate name McDonald's Corporation became the formal identity associated with the growing restaurant company.

This change is sometimes confused with the date McDonald's was founded. The original McDonald brothers opened their first restaurant in San Bernardino, California, in 1940, while the corporation's major expansion under Kroc happened later. The 1960 name change also predates the modern standalone Golden Arches logo introduced in the early 1960s.
