Ali married Sonji Roi in 1964, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1966. In 1967, he married Belinda Boyd, who later used the name Khalilah Ali; they had four children together before divorcing in 1977. That same year, Ali married actress and model Veronica Porché, with whom he had two daughters. Their marriage ended in 1986.
Ali married Yolanda “Lonnie” Williams in 1986, and they remained married until his death in 2016. His family was larger than the number of marriages suggests: he had nine children, including both biological and adopted children. A common mistake is counting his children or long-term relationships instead of counting the legal marriages themselves.
