Tiger Woods has won the Masters five times as of 2024.
Woods first won at Augusta National in 1997, producing one of the tournament's most dominant performances: he finished 18 under par and won by 12 strokes. He successfully defended the title in 2001, then won again in 2002 and 2005.
His fifth victory came in 2019, when he finished 13 under par and won by one stroke. That triumph was especially notable because it was his first major championship victory in 11 years and his first Masters title since 2005.
Woods's five green jackets place him second on the all-time Masters winners list, behind Jack Nicklaus, who won six. The Masters is one of golf's four major championships, and its winner receives a green jacket, making “green jacket” a common shorthand for a Masters victory.
