Peaky Blinders has six seasons, officially called six series in British broadcasting. The crime drama follows Thomas Shelby and the Shelby family as they expand from a Birmingham street gang into a powerful business and political organization.
The series premiered on BBC Two on 12 September 2013. It remained on BBC Two through its fourth series before moving to BBC One for series five and six. Across its complete television run, the show contains 36 episodes, with six episodes in each series.
The sixth series premiered in 2022 and was announced as the final television series. It was not followed by a seventh season of the original programme; instead, creator Steven Knight continued the story through a feature film. This is why some viewers may encounter references to more Peaky Blinders projects without there being a seventh season.
Another common confusion comes from terminology. In the United Kingdom, the show’s instalments are generally called “series,” while international audiences often call them “seasons.” Both terms refer to the same six-part television run.
