How many Rolls-Royce Boat Tail cars were built?

The story behind the answer

Three Rolls-Royce Boat Tail cars were built.

The Boat Tail is an ultra-exclusive coachbuilt grand tourer created by Rolls-Royce’s Coachbuild division. It was presented in 2021 and takes its name from the boat-tail shape of its rear bodywork, a form associated with classic bespoke cars and wooden speedboats.

Each of the three cars was commissioned for a different client and has distinctive details. Their rear decks open to reveal a hosting area with items such as a parasol, seating and tailored accessories. Although the cars share the Boat Tail concept and general architecture, they are not identical.

Boat Tail is often confused with Sweptail, another one-off Rolls-Royce coachbuilt commission. Sweptail was created for a single customer, whereas Boat Tail was produced as a three-car series. Reported prices for Boat Tail vary by source because Rolls-Royce does not publicly confirm individual transaction prices.
