J.R.R. Tolkien’s lore says that seven Rings of Power were given to the Dwarf-lords.
The distribution is summarized in the verse about the Rings: three went to the Elven-kings, seven to the Dwarf-lords, nine to mortal Men, and one supreme Ring was made for Sauron. The seven dwarf Rings did not turn their bearers into wraiths, but they intensified greed and helped fuel the Dwarves’ desire for treasure.
Sauron eventually recovered or destroyed most of these Rings. According to Tolkien’s mythology, dragons consumed four, while Sauron reclaimed three. The Ring of Thrór, the last of the seven, was taken from Thráin in the dungeons of Dol Guldur.
The seven dwarf Rings are distinct from the Seven Houses of the Dwarves, although Tolkien’s writings connect the Rings with their lords. Their exact individual histories are less fully narrated than the history of the One Ring.
