A men’s singles champion at the Australian Open receives 2,000 ATP ranking points. That is the standard winner’s allocation for a Grand Slam singles title, including the Australian Open’s 2026 edition.
The points are added to the player’s ATP ranking total under the tour’s ranking system. They are not prize money, tournament ranking, or a permanent career bonus: ranking points affect a player’s position over the rolling ranking period and can later expire when the corresponding result drops out.
The runner-up receives 1,300 points, while semifinalists receive 800 and quarterfinalists 400 under the 2026 distribution. These figures explain why winning the title creates such a large ranking advantage over merely reaching the final.
The same 2,000-point winner figure applies to women’s singles under the WTA system, although the points awarded at some later rounds differ. Older Australian Open editions and exceptional ranking policies can have different tables, so the year matters when comparing historical records.
