The Good Place received 14 Primetime Emmy nominations during its four-season run.
The nominations recognized the series in major comedy categories as well as acting, writing, interactive media, and short-form programming. The show earned Outstanding Comedy Series nominations for seasons three and four, helping establish it as one of television’s most acclaimed modern sitcoms.
Ted Danson received three nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, while Maya Rudolph was nominated three times for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. Other recognized contributors included William Jackson Harper, D’Arcy Carden, Michael Schur, and the writers of “Janet(s)” and “Whenever You’re Ready.”
A common mix-up is confusing Emmy nominations with wins or with the show’s nominations from other organizations. The Good Place also received Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice, Hugo, Saturn, and Nebula recognition, but those awards are not included in the Emmy total.
