There are 43 pieces of art in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The art collection is displayed in the museum’s gallery, which is overseen by Blathers. It contains 30 paintings and 13 statues, making 43 distinct pieces in total. Players must donate genuine versions of every piece to complete the gallery.
Most art is purchased from Jolly Redd, whose Treasure Trawler visits the island periodically. Redd may offer several works during a visit, but some are counterfeit. Players can inspect the pieces before buying because fake versions contain visual clues, such as different facial details, altered patterns, or unexpected objects.
The collection is inspired by famous real-world artworks. For example, New Horizons includes pieces based on paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Johannes Vermeer, and Georges Seurat, as well as sculptures associated with artists such as Michelangelo. Some works have no fake version, but many can be forged, making the art wing slower to complete than the fossil exhibit.
