How many people can play together in Pokémon Pokopia’s multiplayer mode?

The story behind the answer

Up to four people can play together in Pokémon Pokopia’s multiplayer mode. The game supports both online multiplayer and local wireless multiplayer, allowing players to visit and build in a shared paradise.

Nintendo also supports GameShare for the title. A player on Nintendo Switch 2 can share access with someone who does not own the game, although the shared access lasts only for the session and has specific hardware requirements.

The four-person limit includes the host and visiting players. It is therefore different from the number of Pokémon that may appear in a settlement or from the number of people who can receive a GameShare invitation over time.

Online play requires Nintendo Switch Online, an internet connection, and a Nintendo Account. Local wireless play requires one console and one copy of the software per player, so the modes have different practical requirements despite sharing the same four-player maximum.
