Super Mario Party features 80 minigames. Released for the Nintendo Switch in 2018, it combines traditional four-player contests with minigames designed around the console’s Joy-Con controllers, HD Rumble, motion controls, and touchscreen-linked play between two Switch systems.
The total includes minigames spread across the game’s different modes, not just those played in the standard Mario Party board game. Players can access them separately in Free Play, while other minigames are tied to modes such as River Survival, Sound Stage, and Toad’s Rec Room. Challenge Road provides a single-player route through the complete minigame collection.
A frequent mix-up concerns online play. At launch, Super Mario Party’s online mode offered only a selected group of ten minigames in Online Mario-thon, rather than the entire collection. A 2021 update added online support for the main board modes and expanded the number of minigames playable online to 70, with the ten Sound Stage minigames excluded because they rely on motion controls.
The 80-minigame total belongs to Super Mario Party, not Mario Party 9, which has 81, or Mario Party Superstars, which has 100.
