How many major women's doubles titles did Serena Williams win?

The story behind the answer

Serena Williams won 14 major women’s doubles titles.

All 14 of those championships came with her older sister, Venus Williams. The sisters were unbeaten in major doubles finals, winning every final they reached. Their titles covered all four major tournaments: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open.

Their first major doubles triumph came at the 1999 French Open, followed later that year by the US Open. They won six Wimbledon titles, four Australian Opens, two French Opens and two US Opens. Their partnership combined Serena’s power and serving with Venus’s athleticism and court coverage.

The total is specifically for women’s doubles majors, not all doubles titles. Serena also won nine non-major women’s doubles titles, including three Olympic gold medals, giving her 23 WTA Tour-level doubles titles overall. She additionally won two mixed-doubles majors in 1998.
