The original panel of the British programme Dragon's Den contained five investors.
The first series, broadcast in 2005, featured Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Doug Richard and Simon Woodroffe. Together, they formed the panel that entrepreneurs faced when presenting their companies and asking for investment.
The panel size is distinct from the number of Dragons who have appeared across the programme's entire history. The cast has changed repeatedly, with some investors joining, leaving or returning in later series. Consequently, photographs of later panels may show a different combination of people.
The original five-investor arrangement established the familiar visual structure of the British show. Entrepreneurs stand before the panel, explain their business and then respond to questions about sales, valuation, ownership and growth prospects.
