Five investors normally sit on the panel in the UK television show Dragon's Den.
The five-person panel is the programme's standard visual and dramatic arrangement. Entrepreneurs enter the den, deliver a pitch and then face questions from the investors, who decide individually whether to make an offer. A contestant may receive several offers, a single offer or none at all.
The exact identities of the five Dragons have changed over the show's history. Original panel members included Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. Later lineups introduced investors such as Deborah Meaden, Theo Paphitis, James Caan, Hilary Devey, Kelly Hoppen and Sara Davies.
Special episodes and guest appearances can alter the lineup, so “five” describes the normal panel rather than an absolute rule for every episode. The number is also distinct from the number of entrepreneurs pitching in a particular segment.
