Five investors normally sit on the panel in Britain's Dragon's Den.
Each investor is commonly called a Dragon. Entrepreneurs enter the den one at a time, give a presentation and state how much money they want in return for a percentage of their business. The five panel members then ask questions and may make individual or joint offers.
The number five is a standard feature of the British programme, although special episodes, guest appearances or production changes can affect who is present. The panel has changed across the show's history, with some Dragons serving for many series and others appearing for shorter periods.
The panel size is sometimes mixed up with the number of investors who make an offer on a particular pitch. Those figures are not the same: all five may question a founder, while only one or two may bid, and occasionally none may offer investment.
