Twenty-six Hall of Famers participated in the pregame ceremony at the 2026 MLB Field of Dreams Game.
The legends emerged from the right-field cornfields in an homage to the most recognizable scene from the 1989 film Field of Dreams. Their appearance made the ceremony a celebration of baseball history as well as a preview of the Phillies-Twins game.
Among the Hall of Famers associated with the event were Phillies great Mike Schmidt, former Phillies pitcher Steve Carlton, and Minnesota icons Joe Mauer and Rod Carew. Current players Kyle Schwarber and Byron Buxton helped introduce the living legends.
The gathering was notable because it was believed to be the largest group of living Baseball Hall of Famers at one game since the 2008 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium. That earlier event reportedly included 49 Hall of Famers, so the two numbers describe different occasions and should not be combined.
