Kid Cudi received 2 Grammy nominations for his debut single “Day 'n' Nite.” At the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2010, the song was nominated for Best Rap Song and Rap Solo Performance.
“Day 'n' Nite” was Kid Cudi’s commercial debut single and first appeared on his 2008 mixtape “A Kid Named Cudi.” It later became the lead single from his 2009 debut studio album, “Man on the Moon: The End of Day.” The track was produced by Cudi and Dot da Genius and became one of his defining early records.
The two nominations covered different parts of the recording. Rap Solo Performance recognized Cudi’s performance, while Best Rap Song was a songwriting award credited to Cudi and Oladipo Omishore, better known as Dot da Genius.
Cudi received a third nomination at the same ceremony for “Make Her Say,” a collaboration with Kanye West and Common. That nomination was for a different song, so it should not be added when counting the nominations for “Day 'n' Nite” itself.
