The Boys Presents: Diabolical has eight episodes. The animated anthology series was released on Prime Video on March 4, 2022, with all eight stories making up its first and only season.
Unlike a conventional serial drama, Diabolical uses different animation styles, writers, directors, and casts from episode to episode. Its stories range from a nearly silent tale about a laser-eyed baby to comic-book-style adventures involving Billy Butcher and Wee Hughie. The finale, “One Plus One Equals Two,” explores Homelander’s early days with the Seven.
A common mix-up is confusing Diabolical with the live-action series’ seasons. The Boys’ first season also contains eight episodes, and its second season does too, but those are separate productions. Diabolical is an eight-episode animated spin-off, not a longer season containing 10 or 12 installments. Its anthology format means the episodes are mostly self-contained, although some connect to the wider Boys universe.
