Five Dragons were on the original investor panel of the UK show Dragon's Den.
The first British panel consisted of Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Doug Richard and Theo Paphitis. Their different business backgrounds gave the opening series a mixture of retail, technology, property and entrepreneurial perspectives.
The number of Dragons has not been completely fixed throughout the programme's history. Another frequent confusion is between the number of investors in the British launch panel and the number appearing in a particular episode. The canonical starting lineup contained five people, even though later seasons introduced different combinations of Dragons.
