Kyle Schwarber had 47 career leadoff home runs after his first homer in the 2026 MLB Field of Dreams Game.
His blast against Taj Bradley was the 47th leadoff home run of his career. That total moved him into a tie with Curtis Granderson for seventh place on MLB’s all-time leadoff-home-run list.
A leadoff home run is a home run hit by the first batter of a team’s game, normally in the first inning. Schwarber’s achievement therefore combines an individual milestone with a game-opening offensive play, rather than simply counting all home runs hit during the contest.
The homer was also his 36th of the 2026 season and one of two he hit that night. The second blast came three innings later, making the Field of Dreams appearance a multihomer game as well as a milestone performance.
