Five cancer patients received tickets to the 2026 MLB Field of Dreams Game after an MLB visit.
Before the game, Commissioner Rob Manfred, Hall of Famers Joe Torre and Jim Thome, and former major-league pitcher Jeremy Guthrie visited patients, doctors and staff at MercyOne Dubuque Cancer Center.
Following a meet-and-greet and photographs, five patients received tickets to attend the Phillies-Twins game. The visit extended the Field of Dreams event beyond the ballpark and connected the special week with a local community initiative.
Dubuque is near Dyersville, where the game was played. The cancer-center visit was therefore part of the wider regional program surrounding MLB’s return to Iowa, rather than a ceremony held during the game itself.
