How large is the original Nintendo Switch touchscreen?
Answer
6.2 inches
Answer
6.2 inches
The original Nintendo Switch has a 6.2-inch touchscreen.
Its LCD display uses a 1280-by-720-pixel resolution and sits between the two detachable Joy-Con controllers. In handheld mode, the screen provides the main visual output; in television mode, the console sends video through its dock instead.
The size applies to the original Switch model released in 2017 and also to the Nintendo Switch Lite’s display specification. The later Nintendo Switch OLED Model is larger, using a 7-inch OLED screen, which is a common source of mix-ups.
The screen is capacitive and supports touch input, although many Switch games primarily use physical controls. Nintendo’s design balanced a large enough handheld display with a body small enough to carry comfortably.
