During which Nintendo presentation was Pokémon Pokopia announced?

Pokémon Pokopia was announced during a Nintendo Direct.

The announcement took place in September 2025, when Nintendo revealed the new Pokémon spin-off as a creative life-simulation game for Nintendo Switch 2. The presentation introduced the concept of a human-shaped Ditto rebuilding a deserted world with help from Pokémon.

This announcement format matters because Nintendo uses several different video presentations. Pokémon Presents is dedicated specifically to Pokémon news, while Nintendo Direct presentations cover a broader selection of Nintendo games and announcements. Pokopia’s reveal belonged to the latter category.

The announcement preceded the game’s March 5, 2026 release. Early promotional descriptions highlighted gathering wood and rocks, crafting, building homes, growing vegetables, and encouraging Pokémon to settle in the player’s restored environment.
