Before the TV show "Dynasty", what show did Linda Evans star in?
Answer
Big Valley
Answer
Big Valley
Before the TV show Dynasty, Linda Evans starred in The Big Valley. Evans played Audra Barkley, the spirited daughter of Victoria Barkley, in the popular American Western series that ran from 1965 to 1969.
The Big Valley was set on a large ranch near Stockton, California, during the late nineteenth century. Barbara Stanwyck played family matriarch Victoria Barkley, while the ensemble cast included Richard Long, Peter Breck and Lee Majors. Evans’s Audra was part of the show’s central Barkley family and helped establish her as a recognizable television actress.
Evans later became internationally famous as Krystle Carrington on Dynasty, which premiered in 1981. She played the character opposite John Forsythe’s Blake Carrington and Joan Collins’s Alexis Carrington. Dynasty turned Evans into a major 1980s television star, but The Big Valley was her first regular series role. A common confusion is to remember Dynasty as her breakthrough; in fact, her television career had already been established in the Western genre.
