At which West End theatre did Stranger Things: The First Shadow premiere?

At which West End theatre did Stranger Things: The First Shadow premiere? It premiered at the Phoenix Theatre.

The production began previews at London’s Phoenix Theatre on November 17, 2023, before its official opening there on December 14, 2023. The venue is in the West End, London’s historic theatre district, and became the show’s original home before its later Broadway transfer.

The Phoenix Theatre is sometimes confused with other London venues because several major West End productions have played at theatres with similar names or nearby locations. The Garrick, Apollo, and Lyric theatres are all real West End venues, but none was the site of The First Shadow’s London premiere.

The production was directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin and produced as an official stage prequel to Stranger Things. It later transferred to Broadway, where previews began at the Marquis Theatre in 2025. That later venue should not be substituted for the Phoenix Theatre when the question asks about the West End premiere.
