At which Oxford college did C.S. Lewis teach English literature?

The story behind the answer

C.S. Lewis taught English literature at Magdalen College, Oxford.

Lewis was elected a Fellow and tutor in English at Magdalen College in 1925 and remained there until 1954. The college is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford and is especially associated with its medieval buildings, deer park, and riverside grounds.

At Magdalen, Lewis taught students, wrote books, and developed the intellectual and religious ideas that shaped his later work. He also participated in meetings of the Inklings, an informal Oxford literary group that included J.R.R. Tolkien.

Lewis later became the first Professor of Medieval and Renaissance English at Cambridge University. That appointment took him away from Oxford for his professorship, although Oxford remained central to his life and reputation.
