Beyoncé performed the set later called “Beychella” at Coachella.
She headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, on April 14 and April 21, 2018. Her performance was notable for its large marching-band-inspired production, extensive choreography, and celebration of historically Black colleges and universities.
The set included appearances by Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, as well as Jay-Z and Solange. It drew on songs from Beyoncé’s solo career and Destiny’s Child’s catalog, making the performance both a concert and a career retrospective.
The nickname “Beychella” is an informal blend of Beyoncé and Coachella. It was not the festival’s official name. Netflix later released Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé in 2019, documenting the preparation and performance.
