Answer
1966 Geneva Auto Show
The Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 was first presented at the 1966 Geneva Auto Show.
It was the second model to carry the 400 GT name, following the short-lived 400 GT Interim. The 2+2 version used a revised steel body by Carrozzeria Touring, with a different roofline and enough rear space for two occasional seats. That made it more practical than the 350 GT, whose rear area was primarily luggage space.
The car retained Lamborghini’s front-engine, rear-wheel-drive grand-touring formula but received a 3,929cc V12 and a Lamborghini-designed five-speed gearbox with synchromesh on all gears. Its Geneva presentation helped establish the 400 GT 2+2 as a serious successor to the 350 GT.
The model remained in production from 1966 to 1968, when the Islero replaced it. The 400 GT name can cause confusion because it refers both to the 23-car Interim and the later 2+2, which accounted for most of the production total.
