At which motor show did the Lamborghini Miura P400 prototype debut?

The story behind the answer

The Lamborghini Miura P400 prototype debuted at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show.

This debut followed an earlier appearance at the 1965 Turin Auto Show, where Lamborghini displayed the Miura’s rolling chassis without its finished body. The Geneva event showed the completed prototype, styled by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, and revealed the dramatic transverse, rear-mid-engine layout that made the Miura revolutionary.

The P400 was developed by Lamborghini engineers Giampaolo Dallara, Paolo Stanzani and Bob Wallace. Its name referred to the engine’s rear placement and four-litre class, while the V12 was mounted transversely and closely integrated with the transmission and differential to save space.

The Turin-versus-Geneva distinction is the main source of confusion: Turin hosted the chassis presentation, but Geneva hosted the finished P400 prototype debut. The enthusiastic 1966 response led to production, which began the following year.
